COVID-19 Policies
Infection control procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE)
To protect you and our team, we have significantly reduced the number of patients we see in our office and have implemented strict infection control procedures that meet guidelines from Public Health Ontario and the College of Optometrists of Ontario. Some of the things you can expect during your visit include:
- Mandatory hand sanitizing station for anyone entering the office, plastic countertop barriers, and layout changes to permit safe social distancing.
- Staff are outfitted with PPE and have been trained to follow strict handwashing and health/safety measures at all times. Clinical and shared spaces are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each patient visit.
- Please arrive wearing your own mask that covers your nose and mouth. Masks are mandatory for anyone over 2 years of age to enter the clinic. If you do not have your own mask, one will be provided for an additional charge of $1. Any proceeds will be donated to the Ajax Lions Club. Refusal to wear a mask will be subject to a Missed Appointment Fee.
- Outside gloves are not permitted to be worn in the office.
- Please attend your appointment alone. We ask that only one additional person attend if absolutely required (e.g., one parent/support-person/substitute decision maker).
- Please leave bags and unnecessary items in the car.
- Please use the restroom before arriving to your appointment.
Here are some tips for your visit:
- Please bring any eyewear that you currently wear. If you wear contact lenses please wear them to your appointment and also bring your glasses.
- Your eyes may be dilated. Please bring your sunglasses.
- Due to the additional sanitization procedures, please expect the overall process to be a little longer than usual.
- If you are a new patient and wear contact lenses, please bring your contact lens packaging and any solutions you use.
- If you have any questions or need to change this appointment please contact us.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please provide at least 48 hours notice. If you do not attend your appointment or cancel with fewer than 24 hours’ notice, you will be charged a fee of $50 per missed appointment time slot. Given these difficult times, we appreciate your understanding.
Thank you for all your patience and support! We look forward to seeing you soon!
